Spring Time is here and it is time to remember that your horse has special needs in the spring. He or She has most likely had the winter off and now is the time to start thinking of Nutrition, De-worming and vaccinations. Now is a good time to start your horse back a nutrition program to replace the nutrients lost to the long cold winter. A good program is too feed 3 ounces of Stamina Plus Equine Supplement with 1 pound of oats daily along with hay.

Your horses need to be de-wormed before turning out to pasture as not to contaminate the pasture with worm eggs.

Vaccination is critical as not to have sick horses as you get ready to ride them. I recommend a vaccination program that includes; eastern and western encephalitis, flu, rhino, tetanus, west nile and strangles. This is a good vaccination platform to start with and you Veterinarian can tell you which are the best vaccines on the market with the smallest chance of reactions. Your Veterinarian can also recommend other vaccinations that may be necessary in your area.
