Horse Colic related to water intake

This past summer Stamina Plus has investigated Horse Colic related to water intake. In a number of cases water was available but from a waterer that the horses were not able to get enough water from. The cases investigated either had very small waterers or a waterer that the horses were afraid of. When it is hot and the horse’s need a drink equipment that only allows one gallon at a time may not be not be enough water. Also waterers that have continuous water flowing may scare new horses on than type of waterer. The last problem to check on is for algae growth that may give an off taste to the water and limit water intake.
