Here at the Stamina Plus Research Facility in Cody Wyoming I have found that Oats is the perfect grain for all age horses. Oats has the perfect balance of protein, fat, fiber and non-structural carbohydrates. The amount to be fed per day is related to age and exercise and falls in the range of 1 to 3 pounds per day for most horses. When Oats are fed with hay and a complete Equine Supplement like Stamina Plus Complete Supplement (at 3 ounces per day) a balanced diet can be achieved at a reasonable cost per day.

Do you feed whole oats or crimped? I’ve heard the crimped is more easily digested and absorbed.
For the average horse whole oats are fine. For horse’s over 18 years i use crimped oats
