I have discussed horses that were under weight after the winter, now what if they are over weight. In the research facility I had two horses together in a paddock for the winter with blankets on. One horse was 27 years old and a shy eater and the other was a 20 year old aggressive eater. I feed these horses extra feed too make sure the shy horse received enough feed.

When I took their blankets off the shy horse was in excellent condition but the aggressive eater was over weight. To solve the problem I separated the horses into their own stalls and runs and started feeding them differently.

The shy horse continued on 75% alfalfa and 25% grass hay at a rate of 24 lbs per day plus 2 lbs of oats and 2 ounces of Stamina Plus Senior Supplement. The over weight horse went on a diet of 25% alfalfa and 75% grass hay at a rate of 16 lbs per day, along with ½ lb of oats and 2 ounces of Stamina Plus Senior Supplement.

This is the benefit of feeding a Complete Vitamin and Trace Mineral supplement like Stamina Plus Supplement. You can vary the amount of hay and grain and still get a balanced diet for your horse.
