The horses hoof is a very complex organ that requires correct Nutrition and constant trimming or shoeing. The hoof grows from the coronary band down and takes 12 months to completely grow out.

A Quarter crack occurs because of improper trimming or stress or injury to that part of the foot. If the crack extents from the coronary band down then it is an emergency to correct the crack as soon as possible. The pressure that the heel of the hoof puts on the crack can make it worse very quickly.

First a Farrier must become involved to place corrective shoes on the hoof to take the pressure away from the crack and the heel of the hoof. The shoe will have to be replaced every six weeks. Because it takes the hoof 12 months to normally grow out, one must be patient. The growth will have to start at the coronary band so watch for the growth at the hair line.

Stamina Plus has developed their Equine Hoof Plus to encourage hoof growth. The specific nutrients in the Hoof Plus will speed up the growth of the hoof by 20% and decrease the time for healing of a quarter crack.

The formulation of Stamina Plus Equine Supplement when fed daily will help keep hooves healthy and prevent severe problems such as hoof quarter cracks.
